The first try and conversion, from Orkney, came 2 minutes into the game making it 7-0. Quines answered quickly making it 7-7. Orkney went onto score 4 tries in quick succession taking the score to 7-31 as the halfway mark neared. Quines managed to pull one back and the score at the end of the first half was 14-31.

A pep talk and change in tactics from Graeme Buchan saw Quines go into the second half looking to change the game and regain some points, however 2 early tries from Orkney saw the score go to 14-45. At this stage, it would seem to spectators watching on that Orkney had the game securely in the bag and there was no hope for Quines. They would be wrong. 30 minutes from the end Quines started to play their game and Orkney couldn’t get a hold of the ball. 4 successive tries from Quines took the score to 38-45 with only 6 minutes left.

Unfortunately Quines could not find that last try or two and Orkney managed to score in the last minute taking the total to 38-52.

All in all a fantastic game of rugby from the 16 strong Quines, who gave their everything and fought to the end. The only way is up!
